Why Is Change So Difficult?

Change is usually difficult, but that it is needed and the results tend to beneficial. If things never change then nothing ever grows or is created. People’s nature is to resist change and that’s been ingrained in us since the early days of humans. It is because, up until recently, change usually meant problems trying to live.

If there was a drought, crops didn’t grow and people might die. If you got a cold you could die. A flood or drought could easily kill many. Humans until the 20th century, lived for the most part a subsistence lifestyle. Any change increased the risk of death.

That is the main reason so many fight against change. We must take care when implementing change. The best thing to do is make others want the change and show them a path to it and their positive future with the change.
